An Affordability Crisis
Billionaires have significant control over today's economy and they have a finger in every pie. They control the price of the meat and vegatables you buy at the grocery store. They control the price you pay for home internet. They control the nation's for-profit health insurance companies. Try to find an affordable house to buy or apartment to rent in the 2nd congressional district, it's nearly impossible. And centrist, pro-business Democrats like Rep. Gabe Vasquez are not the solution to this crisis of affordability. They are the problem.
Tom is an economic populist and democratic socialist who believes that our economy should always put people before profits. Health insurance companies on the otherhand always put profit before patients. Which is why Tom supports Medicare for All.
